Day 80Cascade Locks, Oregon

View on map

I travel about 28 miles to Cascade Locks, with a long descent, some waterfalls and more tourists. The city is small, compact and easy to walk, I prefer it to a detour to a larger agglomeration.

I start with a huge blueberry milkshake, then take a second with a big coca. I’ll book a room at Cascade Inn. The hotel first tries to charge me 10 dollars a laundry, previously free for the PCT hikers. When I simply explain that I will update the information for the community, the service becomes free again.

I take advantage of the room to wash, dry and repair all the equipment. Later, I found another burger before closing, and then I did the resupply in the small open store until 22:00. The choice is limited and requires to improvise a few meals.

I go to bed late after I answer the messages and prepare Washington. The night will last only about 5 hours, but tomorrow begins the last major section of the PCT.
