Day 79Timberline Lodge (Mount Hood Parkdale, Oregon)
The foot finally allows you to leave. The climb to Timberline Lodge is long but beautiful, with many tourists approaching the building. The lodge, famous for serving as an outdoor decor for The Shining, is impressive.
The legendary PCT hikers buffet no longer exists. I choose the highest-end restaurant and still order a burger, despite my resolution to vary, then a remarkable cheesecake. The meal is excellent but far too heavy. Several visitors recognize thru-hikers and come to ask questions, someone even offers a cut apple.
After reloading my devices and visiting the lodge, I leave by the alternative of Ramona Falls. The waterfall is worth a visit. I continue further than expected to save time on arrival at Cascade Locks.
I’m already thinking about Washington and the terminus.
