Day 77Detroit, Oregon
The day seems modest on paper, around 32 or 33 miles, but it cumulates ascent, sun, burnt forest, some blowdowns, pierriers and snow plates. The landscapes are beautiful, even though the fires have greatly transformed the area.
I meet volunteers who maintain the PCT and several hikers walking south. I finish tired and already think of Olallie Lake, where I can refuel the next day before pushing to Timberline Lodge.
