Day 55Old Station, California

To dead trees add thorny bushes that invade the trail. In shorts, I end up scratched and in blood. I put on my rain pants to protect me but he ends up torn in turn. The mosquitoes are numerous and I camp late on an old road, for lack of better location.

Morning remains painful, then the trail finally becomes fluid in the afternoon. Well fed, I find a lot of energy and finish a new day of about 35 miles.

For the first time in a long time, I really listen to music while walking, a rock compilation of the 1960s-1970s that dramatically accelerates my pace.

The tooth that hurt me becomes my main concern. I give up candy, too aggressive in a daily life where I eat sweet all day. My hand heals, but remains very fragile in the sun. The day lengthens slightly to reach a water point and make it easier to stop the next day.
