I’m trying to take about 35 miles to stay in the adjusted calendar. Coated trees further slow the progression and water points impose several detours. At the end of the day, I have to carry about 2 liters over the last 8 miles, with a new climb.

I feel an unusual fatigue in the morning and eat more than my expected ration. My food bag, bought in Lake Tahoe, is also starting to tear. It remains usable, but its fragility is disappointing given its price.

I’m finishing an audio book and planning to start Ken Follett’s Earth Pillars. On this crowded terrain, however, it is necessary to choose when listening does not divert too much attention from the path.
