Day 40Tuolumne County, California

I arrived late at the camp the night before, about 8:00. The Yosemite portion is less technical and offers landscapes already familiar with the photos: waterfalls, cliffs and steep valleys. During the night, 10 to 15 centimetres of snow cover the ground.

Morning is beautiful but cold. I’m wearing almost all my diapers: shirt, fleece, downcoat, jacket and rain pants. The first miles are flat and the trail remains relatively visible under the cool snow.

The day provides about 27 miles and over 2,000 metres of positive elevation. A new snow-covered pass awaits after 18 miles. The traces seem easier to follow than the previous day, but the fatigue of the last days remains present. However, I am still in time for Kennedy Meadows North.
