Day 15Valyermo, California
When I leave Cajon Pass, I continue beyond the planned campsite, hoping to find a spot not listed in FarOut. After a long climb, I finally have to improvise a camp slightly away from the trail. The place is better than expected: a beautiful view, mild temperatures and almost no wind. I meet Paz, a Québécois, there.
I then reach Wrightwood on foot via a side trail rather than hitchhiking. I eat a huge burger with fries, several Cokes and a milkshake that is impossible to finish. I also find Patrick and Patrice, who tell me that I left my spoon at the campsite 2 days earlier. I get a plastic one and complete my resupply at a gas station.
Returning to the PCT requires almost 5 kilometres of climb, in full heat and with a much too full stomach.
