Day 61Gazelle, California
The day finally offers some beautiful landscapes. I listen to a large part of Earth’s Pillars and only cross hikers walking south. Several warn me that many blowdowns wait the next day.
The sole of my feet remains painful and the skin is very damaged. My shoes deteriorated much faster than the first pair: undercut, crushed and almost flat insoles. Every break, I clean my feet and dry the socks.
I give up adding miles to the program. The days are already long and there are two days left before Etna. The next equipment store is becoming a priority: I need at least new soles and probably new shoes.
