Heat is strong in the morning and fatigue accumulates. I often lie down around 22:30 to go back about 05:00: too little sleep in view of the effort. I slightly reduce the target, which still remains around 33 miles and over 2,000 meters of elevation.

Water points are spaced and I have to wear more. The pine-covered mountains chain in small climbs and descents, without a large summit but without respite.

Deer approach the camp, probably attracted by the salt of sweat rather than by food. Comments warn that they can bite sticks and equipment. So I keep an eye on my business.
