Day 36Vermilion Valley Resort (Lakeshore, California)

After my fall in the river, the weather worsens: rain, hail and snow. My clothes stay wet and the night is cold, with a lot of condensation in the tent. I don’t sleep much, both because of moisture and because of accumulated fatigue.

I cross Seldon Pass in the morning. After the previous passes, it seems almost simple, especially with snow still hard. Then I go down to the valley and take a 5-mile alternative route to Vermilion Valley Resort, on the edge of Lake Edison.

The Memorial Day is approaching and many vehicles go up to the lake with boats. The resort opened the day before. After 8 days without connection, I especially look forward to eating, taking a shower, doing a laundry and reconstructing my reserves.
