Day 35Lakeshore, California
The day begins with Muir Pass, under the sun and in the middle of a large expanse of snow. Left early, I enjoy excellent conditions. The light is already aggressive at 08:00 and I lack sunscreen.
Later, crossing a river on a damp trunk, I slide and fall into the water and hit me slightly. My phone seems to have resisted, but I’m soaked. Shortly thereafter, another torrent requires walking in the water to the knees.
For once, the sky is covered and the cold persists: no chance to dry quickly. I’m tired, my heels hurt and I look forward to Vermilion Valley Resort. There is still about 12 miles and 1 last pass the next morning. The resort just opened according to an unverified comment in FarOut, I hope the information is correct.
