Day 32Independence, California
I cross Forester Pass after about 700 meters of climb. The snow covers a large part of the route and the landscapes are incredible, both during ascent and descent. It’s one of my most beautiful views since the start.
I climb with Smoke, an American, and then find Hélène and Yann, the two French crossed earlier. The day before, we crossed several rivers already powerful and our affairs were wet. The night remains cold, even if it is less harsh than the previous one, during which frost was formed inside the tent.
I gave up the climb of Mount Whitney because it was too late and the wind was rising. During the descent of Forester Pass, I am having fun in the snow but definitely breaks one of my sticks. Incredible day.
