I leave Kennedy Meadows around 06:30, before most of the other hikers who wait for breakfast and seem to want to leave in a group. After all I ate the day before, I am not hungry and prefers to immediately regain my own rhythm.

The climb starts from the exit. The bag is heavy, the height is high and the day is demanding, but excitement takes over: after almost a month in the desert, I finally enter the Sierra.
