Day 27Kennedy Meadows (Inyokern, California)

I get up earlier to reach Kennedy Meadows around 12:00. There are 20 miles left, with most of the climb starting in the morning. Despite the rationing, I still have 4 bars for the day: I will finally have no shortage of food.

When I close my down too quickly, I tear it apart. Several ultralight objects are very fragile.

As Kennedy Meadows approached, I met far fewer people than at the beginning of the trail. When I finally arrive at the General Store, the bell rings and the hikers present applaud, as tradition requires. The desert ends here. After nearly 700 miles, I can finally eat, put the bag down and prepare the Sierra.
