Day 23Caliente, California

I pass Tehachapi without entering town. The section is flat, warm, exposed and along several roads as well as a vast wind farm. This is one of the passages where I meet the most magic trail.

The night before, I first tested the cowboy camping. The wind was very strong, the wind turbines were not there by chance and I feared that my fragile tent would not resist. Sleeping directly outside was finally the simplest solution, even though I looked for a minimum shelter.

The heat is already strong at 07:00. The landscape remains desert, but Kennedy Meadows and the entrance to the Sierra are beginning to appear close.
