Day 18Agua Dulce (Santa Clarita, California)
I’m leaving about 05:30. The rain of the day before soaked all the vegetation: at every passage, the water pours on my clothes. I hope first to dry with the sun, but this one never comes. I end up wearing all my rainwear and walking in the cold for a difficult day of about 24 miles.
Arriving at Agua Dulce in the middle of the afternoon after crossing Vasquez Rocks, a spectacular park used as a backdrop for many films. In the Oasis, 30 dollars provide access to a campsite, shower, laundry and toilet. Many hikers are stopped.
I dry all my stuff, replace 1 pair of holed socks, buy a spoon and some small equipment, then complete my supplies. After this wet and cold day, the shower and dry clothes make a considerable difference.
