Day 13Hesperia, California

The day before, the end of the day is difficult but the beautiful landscape, especially around a torrent. I meet several groups and meet Atlas, a guide from Alaska. The evening camp is not comfortable and very cold. I note that it is now necessary to keep electronics in the down, because the batteries discharge quickly with the cold of the night.

I limit the day to about 25 miles, as the next location is then 17 miles away. I regularly recreate Adam, Buzz and Atlas at breaks and water points. We also pass near hot springs frequented by a few bathers.

Heat returns in the afternoon. My feet begin to suffer from similar frictions on both sides, I protect areas with bandages to avoid them becoming real bulbs.
