I’m going through Harts Pass and I’m going to the border. Several forest fires are visible on both sides of the trail. Their distance is difficult to assess and plumes are impressive.

A cross ranger at Harts Pass does not report closures: the trail remains open. Cooler weather seems to help contain fires. However, I continue with some concern, aware that the situation could change rapidly (which will be the case).
